RTS Programme Award nominations announced

Here are the comedy-related nominations for the Royal Television Society Programme Awards 2009. The winners will be announced on 16th March 2010 at the Grosvenor Hotel in London at a ceremony hosted by Rob Brydon.

Also, Newswipe with Charlie Brooker is nominated in the Entertainment category. The satirical programme is up against Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor. Elsewhere, Channel 4 comedy dramas Misfits and Cast Offs are nominated in the Drama category alongside The Street; BBC Four comedy drama Micro Men is in the running for the Multichannel Programme Award; and Shameless appears in the shortlist for the best Nations and Regions Programme.
