The results of the Chortle Awards 2016 have been announced.
Run by comedy website Chortle.co.uk, the awards - which are primarily based around stand-up comedy - were established in 2002. In all but two categories, the results are determined by a panel of judges selecting short-lists that are then put to an online vote.
The trophies were handed out at an event in London tonight, with the ceremony this year hosted by Clive Anderson.
Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer were the headline winners, with the judging panel awarding them the Outstanding Contribution title. Reeves, greeted with a standing ovation, picked up the award, commenting "Bob can't be here because he's doing a nightclass."
Elsewhere in the list of winners, rising star Joseph Morpurgo picked up an impressive three wins. One in the Breakthrough Act category, another for innovation (for his show Soothing Sounds For Baby), and the third in the peer-based Comedian's Comedian category.
Other prize recipients included Katherine Ryan, Joe Lycett and Zoe Lyons. On receiving the Radio award for Just A Minute, Nicolas Parsons commented: "We've been going for 49 years and at last we get a bloody award!"
