The MediaGuardian 100, an annual list of the one hundred most powerful people working in the British media industry, features four British comedians this year. They are...

45: Stephen Fry - Fry rises up the MediaGuardian 100 thanks to his promotion of technology such as Twitter - not to mention his prolific output across TV, radio, newspapers and more. Profile

53: David Mitchell - Peep Show star David Mitchell stakes his MediaGuardian 100 claim as the go-to funnyman of the moment. Profile

62: Armando Iannucci - Comedy writer, director and producer Armando Iannucci joins the MediaGuardian 100 thanks to work on shows like The Thick of It. Profile

100: Jonathan Ross - Battered by controversies at the BBC, Jonathan Ross just makes the final slot in this year's list. Profile

Top of the list was, once again, Sergey Brin and Larry Page - the founders of Google. A number of TV executives, including Mark Thompson, Peter Fincham, Jay Hunt and Jana Bennett, appear in the top half of this year's list too. To view the full list countdown visit MediaGuardian

The newspaper's annual look at where the power sits in the media industry highlights the changing landscape of British comedy - Ant and Dec, Richard Curtis and Russell Brand, who have been listed in previous years, were absent from this year's top 100.
