Go Faster Festival II
The anarchic filming company Go Faster Stripe, who look after the DVD output of the likes of Stewart Lee, Susan Calman and Richard Herring, are once again taking over the Bloomsbury Theatre in London for two days of comedy.
Go Faster Festival II is not only giving audiences a chance to see an astounding line up of original comedy, but they're also recording all six of the shows for future DVD release.
As an independent production company, Go Faster Stripe gives comedians the opportunity to film their shows that may otherwise be overlooked by larger companies.
Richard Herring, the 'Lord of the Dance Settee' who is 'Happy Now', said: "Go Faster Stripe is an amazing independent company, filming for some of the country's best comedians. Chris Evans (not that one) is one of the great (mainly) unsung heroes of the UK comedy scene."
So what have the cool kids got in store for the weekend?
Friday the 9th of September features David Trent and his unique style of high octane audiovisual tech-comedy. Then you can stick around to see winner of Scottish Comedian of the Year, Scott Agnew. His show - I've Snapped My Banjo String, Let's Just Talk - was widely praised at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, and tells tales of misadventure.
On Saturday the 10th of September there are two chances to see Edinburgh award winning comedian Phil Nichol as he celebrates twenty years of comedy. In the afternoon you can see his show I Don't Want to Talk About It, or stick around for the evening show Twenty. Or go see both!
Also on the Saturday you can catch Edinburgh award nominee Seymour Mace who will be bringing his own brand of unpredictable showmanship to The Bloomsbury. The final act to feature on the line-up is double Edinburgh award nominee Tom Parry of Pappy's fame. Parry will perform his brilliant, asinine show Yellow T-Shirt for the final time.
Tickets cost just £30 for the entire Go Faster Festival, and that even includes a free DVD. This will be the last chance to catch most of these shows - well, before Chris Evans (not that one) tries to sell you the DVDs - so we'd advise cancelling all your plans this weekend and getting down to the Bloomsbury Theatre.
'Go Faster Festival II (Go Fester)' is at the Bloomsbury Theatre on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th September 2016. The first shows start at 7:30pm. More info and tickets
