Dom Joly is reviving Trigger Happy TV for a live tour.

The comic has announced four UK dates to mark the 25th anniversary of the hidden camera show launching on Channel 4.

Joly let slip plans for a live tour in an interview with BBC Radio Wales last year but promoter Live Nation has only revealed the dates today.

The live show features his characters of the giant snail, the traffic warden, the morris dancer, the Scout, a gang of squirrels and his iconic giant mobile phone.

The announcement comes just days after Joly revealed that the original phone was stolen from the Mobile Phone Museum in Amsterdam, with the comic denying to BCG that it was a stunt to promote the tour.

Trigger Happy TV originally ran for three series between 2000 and 2003 and was briefly revived for a series of shorts in 2016.

The tour, which comes to Birmingham Town Hall on 7the October, Glasgow's Pavilion Theatre on the 9th, Manchester's Aviva Studios on the 12th and the Adelphi Theatre in London on the 14th, also promises behind-the-scenes stories from the show.

Live Nation say: "But the surprises don't stop there - this is live theatre, and fans can expect the unexpected ... And, as it wouldn't be Trigger Happy TV without a little chaos, audiences are warned to stay on the lookout for pranks, unexpected events, and a chance to find themselves starring in their very own Trigger Happy TV sketch. It's all part of the madness, and you definitely don't want to miss it."

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday through Ticketmaster
