Komedia New Comedy Award 2025. Sydney May

Stand-up Sydney May impressed the judges with her routine about blindness to win the Komedia New Comedy Award 2025.

The final of the new act contest took place at the Brighton-based venue last night (11th February). The award is open to comedians who have been gigging regularly for less than three years and have not won any major comedy competitions. They must have seven minutes of their own stand-up material, plus a clip they can send in with their application.

A motivational coach, May performed her first gig in November 2023 and "life has been a whirlwind ever since".

May receives a bespoke award, a spot at Comic Boom comedy club at Komedia, and a bottle of fizz.
