Laura Lexx wins at Women in Comedy Festival Awards

- Best Newcomer: Ariel Hebditch
Laura Lexx's stand-up show Slinky has won Best Show in the inaugural Women in Comedy Festival Awards.
Meanwhile Ariel Hebditch was named Best Newcomer. She performed her debut show Skeleton Out of the Closet as part of the festival, and was presented with the award by festival director Jessica Toomey and festival producer Aimee Perry.
The other Best Show nominees were Grace Mulvey (Tall Baby), Alex Stringer (Happy Hour) and Bella Humphries (Square Peg).
Meanwhile the Best Newcomer runners-up were Molly McGuinness (Slob), Zana Fejzic (Chameleon) and Caitriona Dowden (Divine Comedy).
The winners each received a cash prize of £500, thanks to the sponsorship of Jason Manford and his Manford's Comedy Clubs.
This was the 13th year of the Women In Comedy Festival, which saw 80 shows run across venues in Manchester across the last 10 days.
