The winners of the North West Comedy Awards 2024 were announced at a ceremony at The Frog & Bucket comedy club in Manchester last night.
The results were:
Best Act: Phil Ellis
Best Solo Show: Phil Ellis's Excellent Comedy Show
Reacting to the wins on social media, Elis said: "Genuinely surprised. So much so, I hadn't taken my coat off. Thank you to everyone who voted for me. I love the North West Comedy scene & it's only getting bigger & stronger. Very proud to be a little part of it."
Best TV/Radio Act: Josh Jones
Best MC: Hayley Ellis
Ellis said: "Fun night at the North West Comedy awards. Made up to win Best MC again. Only thing I've held onto longer is my crippling depression."
Breakthrough Act: Karl Porter
Social Media Award: Karl Porter
Writing on Facebook today, he said: "Did my 1st ever gig at the Frog & Bucket and to win there last night was pretty special. Thank you to the industry and everyone who voted!"
Best Alternative Act: Jenny Hart
Best Podcast: Have A Word
