Wi-Fi Wars
  • WiFi Wars, the show in which audiences members can play along with interactive video games, is off on a 2023 tour
  • Steve McNeil and Rob Sedgebeer will be visiting over 30 venues between now and December, their biggest tour yet
  • They say: "After years of doing the show online from our homes, it's great to finally be back on the road"

Interactive videogaming/comedy hybrid show WiFi Wars have announced a 2023 tour.

With over 30 shows planned across the UK, it's the biggest tour yet for the format which allows the audience to play computer games alongside comedians on stage. To take part, audience members just log in to a special wifi spot with their smartphone or tablet, and then they can use their screen to compete in a range of games, quizzes and challenges.

The format was devised by comedian and Dara O Briain's Go 8 Bit team captain Steve McNeil and producer and computer technician Rob Sedgebeer. The live show was first performed as part of the Royal Institution's 2015 Summer Programme and the format has since run across a number of festivals, tours and online shows.

Sedgebeer says: "After years of doing the show online from our homes, it's great to finally be back on the road, where we can bring people together and let them scream at each other in person when they lose."

McNeil adds: "I promised myself I'd never spend another moment in Rob's horrible Fiat, but here we are. Maybe if this goes well, he'll finally fix the window mechanism so we can breathe air en route that doesn't smell like his cats."

The WiFi Wars tour runs from 22nd April right through to December 2023. Below is the full list of dates, featuring a mix of family-friendly matinees and the more traditional evening shows. Further details and ticket booking links are available from wifiwars.co.uk
