Tommy Cannon

Tommy Cannon, one half of legendary double act Cannon & Ball, is embarking on his first ever solo tour.

Entitled Rock On Tommy: An Evening with Tommy Cannon, the show will see Cannon reminisce about his legendary career in showbusiness, as the straight man to Bobby Ball and "much, much more". The promoters say: "Expect anecdotes, jokes, stories and songs. Tommy will show some of his favourite clips, as well as partake in an audience Q&A."

Cannon & Ball first made their name touring the working men's club circuit, making their television debut in 1968 on Opportunity Knocks. Appearances on The Wheeltappers And Shunters Social Club and Bruce Forsyth's Big Night landed them their own television series. The Cannon And Ball Show ran for nine series from 1979 to 1988 and propelled the duo into the highest echelons of British comedy, selling out seasons in Blackpool, the London Palladium and countless pantomimes, even making the leap to the big screen with 1982's The Boys In Blue, which saw them share the screen with comic royalty - Eric Sykes, Roy Kinnear and Jon Pertwee. A popular live act ever since, bolstered even further when Ball became a fixture of Lee Mack's sitcom Not Going Out, Cannon & Ball came to an end in 2020 with the tragic passing of Ball.
