Will Owen has been crowned the winner of the Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian Of The Year 2022 competition.
Aside from the prestigious title, Owen wins a prize package that includes a £1000 cash prize.
The final took place last night (Monday 12th December) at the London venue, with Jessica Fostekew hosting and a headline set from last year's winner Sam Nicoresti.
Vidura Bandara Rajapaksa and Viggo Venn were announced joint runners-up.
Meanwhile Sarah Roberts was picked by the judges for third place.
The final featured the best acts from almost 40 heats of the competition. The other comedians to make it through to this final round were Blank Peng, Chris Weir, Dan Jones, Jacob Nussey, Luke Nixon, Philipp Kostelecky, Samantha Day, Suzie Preece, Will Hall and Will Hitt.
Aside from the £1000 first prize, there was £300 for second place, £250 for third place and the other acts all got £50.
The judges were Steve Bennett (Chortle), Tamara Cowan (Ebdon Management), Will Seaward (performer), Martin Witts (promoter) and David Hardcastle (promoter).
The Leicester Square Theatre New Comedian Of The Year competition counts Rob Beckett, Rachel Parris, Dane Baptiste, Tim Renkow, Nigel Ng, Rosie Holt, Alasdair Beckett-King, Olga Koch, Ian Smith and Sofie Hagen amongst its previous finalists.
