Dave TV offers 2-for-1 comedy tickets
Digital TV channel Dave has linked up with over 100 venues around the country to offer 2-for-1 comedy ticket deals.
Titled Dave's Comedy Society, the scheme - which will run until at least the end of 2011 - will offer comedy fans across the UK a chance to see live comedy for less. It is hoped the discounted tickets offer will encourage more people to visit their local comedy clubs for the first time.
The channel, owned by UKTV, says: "To give everyone the chance to have a night out of fun packed comedy for half price, we have selected over 100 clubs up and down the country. It's a chance to enjoy watching some of your favourite comedians as well as up-and-coming talent that will have your sides splitting."
Venue operators taking part in the scheme include Knock2bag, Komedia, The Stand, Jongleurs, 99 Club, Highlight and The Glee Club. To book 2-for-1 tickets all that is required is that you visit the Dave's Comedy Society website to obtain the 'password', which you then quote when booking.
Dave's Comedy Society is part of a strategy to extend the Dave brand beyond TV and into live comedy too. Aside from the tickets offer, the channel has also started running comedy nights under its own name. The channel's next live show, at the Bloomsbury Theatre on Monday 18th July, features Mock The Week star Stewart Francis; Wall Of Fame regular Andrew Maxwell; and the hit sketch group Pappy's.
