Chris Ramsey and his wife Rosie are aiming to break a new record for the biggest live podcast audience, when they record an episode of their show Shagged. Married. Annoyed in Newcastle in September 2020 as part of a tour. The Utilita Arena has a capacity of over 10,000 seats.
Their promoters explain: "Following the instant success of Chris and Rosie's podcast Shagged. Married. Annoyed, which launched early last year, regularly hitting No. 1 on the download charts and reaching a staggering 18 million downloads worldwide to date, the time has come for the lovable Geordie duo to leave the comfort of their South Shields living room and bring their hit podcast to live stages around the UK, including their home town of Newcastle at the Utilita Arena, which will break the record for the biggest live podcast!"
Talking further about the 8 live shows planned, the promoters explain: "In the same vein as their weekly podcast, Chris and Rosie will be chatting all about life, relationships, arguments, annoyances, parenting, growing up and everything in between, but all in front of a live audience."
Chris Ramsey says: "We are absolutely over the moon that people enjoy listening to us talk nonsense, so we thought why not let them WATCH us talk nonsense... live! It'll be a joy to take it out of our house and into such wonderful venues, but mainly, it'll be a nice change not recording it on a table covered in bits of that day's breakfast."
Rosie Ramsey adds: "For years I've stayed at home while Chris went out on tour, and now I get to go along with him... still not sure how happy he is about this. I'm mainly looking forward to a few nights away! Like a little holiday."
Tickets will be available from Ticketmaster from 10am on Thursday 27th February.
