Stiff & Kitsch have won the main prize at the Musical Comedy Awards 2018.

The musical comedy duo, consisting of Sally O'Leary and Rhiannon Neads, with James Taylor on the keyboard, took first place in the annual contest.

Now in their 10th year, the awards aim to find the best new musical comedians in the country. Previous finalists have included Abandoman, Jay Foreman, Rob Carter, Rachel Parris and David Elms.

The final, hosted by Miss Frisky, took place as part of the Underbelly Festival on London's South Bank. Over 100 entries were whittled down over a series of heats and finals to 10 acts, who performed at the live final.

Duo Stiff & Kitsch were picked by the industry panel of judges as the winning entry, taking home a main cash prize and vinyl-styled trophy. To seal their win, the pair performed The Facebook Song (below).

Archie Henderson and Cassie Atkinson were named joint second-place prize winners, with Dave Bibby picked out as the audience favourite by sponsors WeGotTickets.

Joint third-place titles went to Joe Jacobs and Luke Courtier.

The other finalists were Matt Hutson, Ava Rage (Lorna Shaw), Friz Frizzle and Bennet Kavanagh. The final also featured a set from last year's winner Will Hislop, and this year's best newcomer, Charlotte Brooke.

The Musical Comedy Awards will next celebrate its 10th birthday with a showcase at the Underbelly on 12th May featuring some of the competition's previous stars, including Rachel Parris, The Brett Domino Trio, Jenny Bede and Jollyboat. Info & tickets
