The stars behind hit podcast format No Such Thing As A Fish and its TV spin-off No Such Thing As The News have arranged a 2017 live tour.

The show sees the QI researchers - also known as 'QI elves' - Dan Schreiber, Andrew Hunter Murray, Anna Ptaszynski and James Harkin discussing their favourite facts.

The team will be taking a live version on a tour of England this November and December. This will be their second such tour. Their first, in 2015/16, was a "runaway success", selling out the 1,000-seat Lyric theatre in London's West End and a dozen other venues across the UK.

A pre-sale for tickets will begin on the 28th March via Ticketmaster, with tickets going on general sale on 30th March. The pre-sale details will officially be announced in this week's episode of their podcast, which will be released on Friday [24th March].

Each live performance will be split into two halves: the first will cover the best facts related to the year's news, in a format akin to the podcast's spin-off BBC Two series No Such Thing As The News. The second half will be a recording of the podcast, featuring the best facts uncovered by the Elves that week.

Past facts featured in the podcast include: "In 1864 a friend of Charles Dickens had a flat-pack Swiss chalet sent to Dickens's home as a Christmas present"; "Before trains had corridors guards had to climb along the outside of the carriage to check your ticket"; "British warships are so noisy that enemy submarines can hear them from 100 miles away"; and "The music used on the 'You Wouldn't Steal A Car' anti-piracy advert was stolen by the people who made the ad."

Speaking about the tour announcement, Dan Schreiber says: "This is massively exciting for us. We started as four dorks sitting around a single microphone trying to make each other laugh. Things have changed a bit since we started - we now have four microphones - but it's a thrill to know there are hundreds of thousands of other people who love the same wild and hilarious facts that we do."

Since the podcast began in March 2014, over 150 episodes have been made available to download, with a special episode also released as a vinyl record. The show has won two Chortle Awards, was named best new podcast by iTunes in 2014, and was on the iTunes Best Of 2016 list.

Aside from the podcast, the QI Elves are currently in the middle of researching QI's 15th series which will cover everything interesting beginning with the letter "O". They are also working on the 11th series of Radio 4's The Museum of Curiosity, which is due to be recorded soon.

The QI team are releasing two DVD boxsets of the series on 1st May, the first covering Series A-D and the second Series E-G. A total of 19 discs.
