The Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF) is to hold its first live comedy night in March.
A registered charity, the organisation's GIGGLEBOX evening will raise funds for its work in supporting those from the television and film industries in Britain.
Presented in association with British Comedy Guide, CTBF say: "Hot off the comedy circuit, GIGGLEBOX is delighted to be welcoming some of the best names in stand-up including compere Steve Furst, Imran Yusuf, Sean Collins, Ed Gamble and Patrick Monahan - all showing their support for the industry's trade charity."
To be held at the famous 100 Club on Oxford Street in central London, tickets are now available for the Monday 6th March event, priced at £20 including a drink and snacks.
The organisers have also teamed up with Soho eatery Bodean's BBQ to offer ticket-holders a 30% discount on the day of the show.
Explaining their work, the charity says: "The CTBF are here to protect, advise, support and assist industry colleagues during times of hardship. Those working behind the scenes are often assigned to short freelance contracts, meaning working unsociable hours and long periods of time away from home. Such instability can lead to relationship breakdowns, strained financial resources and mental health issues. This is where the CTBF come in - we are here as a stepping stone, lending a helping hand to those who can see no easy way out. As the landscape of the industry continues to change, your support has never been needed more."
Chief Executive D'Arcy Myers says of GIGGLEBOX: "When life is giving you a hard time it is great to know that you have a friend to turn to for support. We at the CTBF are here to help people working in the industry in any way we can. They say that laughter is the best medicine, so please join us in raising a few laughs and supporting people in the industry who have little to laugh about."
Aaron Brown from British Comedy Guide says: "We are delighted to support the CTBF in their important work, giving much needed help to those in the TV and film industry who have brought so much joy to our lives. We're very proud to be helping with this new fundraising initiative to raise vital money and awareness, and help secure the charity's endeavours for the future."
