Griff Rhys Jones, Lee Mack and Mat Horne to star in The Miser

Full casting has today been announced for a major West End revival of Molière's classic comedy The Miser.
Griff Rhys Jones, Lee Mack and Mathew Horne will lead the cast.
The Miser, which was written in the 1600s, focuses on a man who is obsessed with the wealth he has amassed, and is always ready to save expenses in order to keep it. Now a widower, he has a son, Cléante, and a daughter, Élise. Although he is over sixty, he is attempting to arrange a marriage between himself and an attractive young woman, Mariane.
The play has been newly adapted by Sean Foley and Phil Porter, and will be presented at Bath Theatre Royal and Richmond Theatre, prior to opening at the Garrick Theatre in London's West End on Wednesday 1st March 2017, with an official opening night on Monday 13th March 2017. Tickets are now available from the various venues.
The Miser will be Griff Rhys Jones's first West End stage show in five years. He has previously starred in productions such as Oliver! and Charley's Aunt, winning two Olivier awards in the process.
Meanwhile stand-up star and Not Going Out creator Lee Mack will be making his stage debut in The Miser. Also announced today is Gavin & Stacey star Mathew Horne.
Also appearing in the show will be comedians Andi Osho, Ellie White and Katy Wix, plus actors Saikat Ahamed (Peter Pan), Ryan Gage (The Musketeers), Simon Holmes (Ghost Stories) and Michael Webber (Cyrano).
