London 50 Hour Improvathon 2025 to begin on 4th April
The next London 50 Hour Improvathon, titled Because We Can Can Can!, will run from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th April 2025 at Pleasance Theatre in Islington.
Organised by Showstopper Productions in association with Something For The Weekend, and directed by Adam Meggido and Ali James, this will be the 15th year of the event.
The producers say: "The 50-hour completely improvised comedy soap opera in 25 hilarious episodes, kicks off at 7pm on Friday and plays continuously until 9pm on Sunday (yes, right through the nights!) with a live band and refreshments available throughout. There's even a special 'Family Episode' at 11am on Sunday, suitable for kids of all ages!
"This unique event, that is mooted as Moulin Rouge meets The Greatest Showman, will bedazzle any attendees and is the ultimate 'you had to be there' London live spectacular!
"Featuring stars of Olivier Award-winning Showstopper! The Improvised Musical and Tony Award-winning Mischief alongside comedians, performers, up-and-comers and international guests throughout the weekend. The performers become increasingly sleep-deprived; they behave with a wild freedom you won't see anywhere else! Last year saw Rufus Hound perform and he proposed to his now fiancée Sally Hodgkiss live on stage! So, anything can happen! Stay tuned for the full line-up, to be announced in 2025.
"You can watch any one standalone episode - starting every 2 hours - or stay for more. Those who watch the whole event describe it as life-changing!"
Director Adam Meggido comments: "We are thrilled to be taking the Improvathon to Pleasance London, the perfect setting for a weekend of cabaret and Victoriana! It's like bingeing your favourite Netflix show for a whole weekend - but LIVE!!!"
