More than 260 days ahead of its start, tickets for the first Edinburgh Festival Fringe show of 2025 are now on sale.

Fringe favourite Joke Thieves has announced a run at The Three Sisters from 31st July to 24th August 2025, with tickets available now under a pay what you want scheme through TicketTailor.

Joke Thieves is a mixed bill format in which comedians each perform their own routines before switching to re-enact the routine of another. Audiences regularly witness not only mimicry, but subversion, insults and comedic rivalry develop between the acts.

Having first appeared at the festival in 2013, the show was last seen at the Fringe in 2021.

The ticket release is believed to be the earliest any show has gone on sale since the Fringe was established in 1947.

Producers explain: "Every show features a brand-new line-up of guest comedians joining hosts Will Mars and Bass6 (World Beatbox Champion) for an 'action-packed and chaotic show that will have you roaring with laughter' (Broadway Baby). The show has previously been piloted for BBC Two in the UK, Comedy Central in the US and has featured on BBC Radio 4's The Comedy Club."

Earlier this year, a Joke Thieves channel was launched on YouTube, and the shows taking place at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2025 are to be recorded for the platform.

Will Mars comments: "I got messaged by so many people in the build-up to this year's Fringe, all asking if it was coming back. So I thought, as we've got such a lot of people who love the show, let them get the news early and grab their tickets now.

"Most comedians can't announce their shows, as they've not even written them yet. When they have written the jokes though, they can do them at Joke Thieves and find out if another comedian can do them better."

Joke Thieves will run in the Maggie's Chamber room at The Three Sisters at 8:15pm from 31st July to 24th August. Tickets
