Beat the Frog World Series 2024 finalists
The Frog and Bucket Comedy Club have announced the ten finalists that will appear in the Beat the Frog World Series 2024 final, the Manchester-based venue's annual new act competition.
The competitors are:
Beat the Frog - a weekly, gong-style new act night - grew out of The Frog's original amateur night. Three audience members are given red cards by the compere, then acts take to the stage aiming to deliver a full five minute set without being 'croaked off', which happens when all three of the red cards goes up. At the end, a winner is selected via a 'clap off', from those who 'beat the frog' and all those who win throughout the year are put forward to compete in the heats of the World Series each autumn.
The ten finalists for this year's World Series final have been selected from five heats that took place across the month, with the winner set to be decided at the grand final on Monday 4th November, which will be hosted by Hayley Ellis.
