Neil Innes tribute to feature Pythons, The Rutles & Idiot Bastard Band
The life of Neil Innes is to be celebrated in a special show featuring performances from Michael Palin, Terry Gilliam and former members of The Rutles, John Halsey and Ricky Fataar, plus a raft of comic and music talent.
Neil Innes - 'How Sweet To Be An Idiot' also features Adrian Edmondson and Phill Jupitus, his colleagues in The Idiot Bastard Band, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Kevin Eldon, and further collaborators of the musical comic who was affectionately known as the seventh member of Monty Python, was a mainstay of the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band and created Beatles parody act The Rutles with Eric Idle. The comedy band disbanded after Innes' death in 2019 of a heart attack.
Taking place on 28th November at indigo at the o2 in London, the line-up also includes Yo La Tengo, Tommy Emmanuel, Roger McGough, Tom McGuinness, Elliot Randall, Terrafolk, Andy Roberts, Larry Smith, Brian Patton, Mickey Simmonds, Micko Westmoreland and John Altman acting as musical director, with more names set to be announced.
