Frog And Bucket to launch virtual reality comedy gig
Manchester's Frog And Bucket comedy club is to launch a regular comedy gig in the metaverse.
The club says: "If you thought being able to watch a comedy show live online from the comfort of your own home was exciting, you're going to love this! The Frog And Bucket has teamed up with $JOKE Community to host virtual comedy gigs, the first of its kind in the whole of the UK!
"The first event is on Saturday 3rd December with compere West Country superstar Cerys Nelmes (pictured) introducing comedian, actor, radio presenter and all-round legend Justin Moorhouse, Manchester's very own rising star Brennan Reece and brilliant gagster Peter Brush. The shows will last over 50 minutes and will be pre-recorded from the Frog And Bucket stage but with your Oculus virtual reality headset it'll be just like you're sat right there in the auditorium!
"This exciting partnership allows The Frog and Bucket to reach new audiences around the world!"
The venue will have its own club presence in the Infiniverse and the ability to run gigs 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Jessica Toomey, the Frog and Bucket's managing director, says: "This exciting opportunity is right at the cutting edge and the team at $JOKE are really pioneering the space. We can't wait to perform in new ways to new audiences around the world."
Simon Young, co-founder and CEO of $JOKE - the Yorkshire based company that operate nine clubs in the Infiniverse and also helps comedians mint their jokes into NFTs, comments: "The Frog and Bucket is obviously really famous in the UK and their shows will work really well in the metaverse space."
Andy Price, co-founder and CEO of $JOKE, adds: "The ability for The Frog and Bucket to promote their shows and comedians to a global audience is ground-breaking in its approach. We can't wait to see them in the space."
