Max & Ivan: Do It Yourself Cons

Max & Ivan are Con Artists. Image shows from L to R: Max Olesker, Ivan Gonzalez

Sketch double-act Max & Ivan (pictured) are performing a run of their hit show 'Max And Ivan Are... Con Artists' at the Soho Theatre this month. We saw the show in Edinburgh and were mighty impressed by how, using just a couple of props, the duo somehow managed to lace together sketches to deliver a fast-paced, multi-layered, action packed story involving countless characters. Here we ask the twosome to explain more...

Holy self-promoting blog post, Batman! It's us - Max and Ivan, your favourite narrative-sketch-character-comedy double act!

We've gone and landed ourselves a six-night run in the main house at the Soho Theatre - HOORAY! However, we've realised just how many tickets that requires us to sell - SHIIIIT! Do you know what, though? We're bloody up to the challenge. We bloody are.

The show we're performing for the six night run (SHIIIIIT!) is called Max and Ivan are... Con Artists. We play a selection of fiendish ex-cons reuniting for one last sting on a corrupt Russian Oligarch. We play about 78 characters using barely any props and no costume changes, so as you can imagine it's pretty bloody staggering (or at least, that's the general implication of THESE REVIEWS: METRO, Fringe Review, British Theatre Guide, Three Weeks. Heyooo!).

We daren't give away any more of the show, for fear of spoiling the visceral (and, frankly, sexually-charged) experience of the show itself. So instead, here's a little something we collated featuring cons YOU can do, YOURSELF, for FUN! So give them all a go. But before you do, why not buy a ticket to see your boys over at the Soho? You can have a nice dinner beforehand and everything. Cheers!
