Laughing Horse New Act of the Year 2012 winner announced

Last night Bobby Mair (pictured) was named as the winner of the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year competition. The young comic impressed the crowd and judges when he performed in front of a packed crowd at Camden Highlight. Along with the accolade, he walks away with a £1000 prize and paid work for the next 12 months.

Matt Rees, who has won a string of new act awards over the last 12 months came second, with third place named as Matthew Giffen. An honourable mention went to Funmbi Omotayo.

The judges on the night where Julia Chamberlain (Highlight / So You Think You're Funny?), Paul Fleckney (London is Funny), Charley Base (John Noel Management), Jay Sodagar (Comedian and comedy course tutor) and Alex Petty (Laughing Horse Director).

The full list of finalists for the 2012 contest were: Rob Mair, Barry Ferns, Tallah Khosravian, Funmbi Omotayo, Hill & Weedon, Matthew Giffen, Nick Beaton, Darius Davies, Harriet Kemsley, Wayne Mazadza, Leo Kearse, Matt Rees and Laura Caruthers.
