Honor Blackman to guest star in Series 2
The iconic Goldfinger and Avengers star, Honor Blackman will make a guest appearance in the second series of Gold sitcom You, Me & Them.
The sitcom focuses on the 26-year age-gap relationship between the older Ed (Anthony Head) and his girlfriend, Lauren (Eve Myles), plus the coming-together of their varied and often disapproving families.
Blackman will play Rose, Ed's vital and eccentric mother, who is quite ready to cause chaos between her son and his girlfriend given half a chance. At the age of eighty, Rose has the tireless nature of a person a quarter her age and even though she seems harmless to Lauren, Ed warns her she will create turmoil.
Honor Blackman says: "I think they are lovely people, and a terrific team and I look forward to having fun with them. Anthony Head and Eve Myles have a wonderful relationship; I am going to see if I can rattle their cage a bit!"
Steve North, General Manager of Gold, says: "Honor Blackman may be the same age as the Queen and it is 50 years since she played the infamous Pussy Galore in Goldfinger, but she is still beautiful, mesmerising and a legendary actress. I am delighted she is joining our brilliant cast and the eccentric You, Me & Them family."
Jimmy Mulville, Executive Producer and head of production company Hat Trick added: "We're thrilled to have such an icon of British film join the cast of You, Me & Them. Honor plays a fantastically naughty and funny character who is definitely not growing old gracefully."
The new series, scheduled to be on screens in 2015, is created and written by Steve Turner, whose comedy credits include ITV's Great Night Out. He is working with multiple award-winning writer Jonathan Harvey on Series 2, whose credits include Coronation Street and Gimme Gimme Gimme.
Blackman's previous comedy roles include starring as the mischievous grandmother Laura West in ITV's 1990s sitcom hit, The Upper Hand.
