Comedy Four
Brief series of sitcom pilots for ITV franchise-holder Granada Television.
All were written and produced by members of the writing/production team of Bootsie And Snudge, which had recently vacated the broadcast slot.
The four comedies were all written as separate entities but had a common theme - a failure of the leading characters to adjust to their modern surroundings.
The four comedies first announced did not end up being the line-up that was eventually broadcast:
The second programme was to be Tin Pan Alice, starring Athene Sayler, Warren Mitchell and Carole Carr, about an old lady who runs an out-moded record shop who suddenly has a hit record on her hands.
The third was as described but was originally meant to star Bernard Bresslaw and Dudley Foster as the two old lags.
