The Amused Moose Comedy Awards are the only awards an the Fringe to focus on discovering "brilliant though unknown" comedy performers who are resident in the UK or Ireland, who do not yet have comedy agents and whose shows have not won any major comedy awards nor been performed at London's Soho Theatre.
Entries were submitted by the performers to Amused Moose Comedy in July, including a film of a public performance of their show as a preview/work-in-progress. Dozens of comedy industry cognescenti around the globe then viewed the films online to select those who would go onto the Longlist, and others onto the Wildcard list, which featured shows that felt far from ready for performance at the Edinburgh Fringe but had potential.
