Bowles says: "It has been incredibly difficult to cut the lists down this year, with so many simply outstanding shows, so, yes, I guess you could say we have long-ish short ISH lists this year, but in the spirit of the awards, we are here to support as many artists as possible!

"And I repeat from last time, the lists obviously do not represent by any means the definitive list of what is great at the Fringe, it's just our panel of judges' opinions and much depends on luck with these things when people were seen, and at the end of the day you will hear much better from the streets and word of mouth what to see, always listen to the streets rather than awards and reviews! And there's always the Panel Prize of course - have you been overlooked for something amazing you're doing at the Fringe? Something extraordinary or something where you're helping other artists? Do let us know!"
