The awards are now in their third year. As previously announced, the winner will receive a giant trophy-shaped inflatable prize, which now measures 2 metres and 2 centimetres tall. Alongside the necessary air pump and carry case, the winner will receive £500 in cash and be given the option to have their show filmed for NextUp's service.

NextUp users can vote for the winner via nextupcomedy.com. Voting closes on Thursday 22nd. The winner will be handed the trophy on Saturday 24th.

Sarah Henley, co-founder of NextUp, says: "With the overwhelming number of side-splitting shows at this year's Edinburgh Fringe, it's no surprise that the longlist is almost as inflated as our gigantic award. The 2-metre inflatable behemoth will be presented on 24th August, and I can't wait as one of our crew is having to share their bed with it and I'm concerned about the HR implications".
