Tom Mayhew creates fake Telegraph website to promote his show
A sneaky but clever trick from Tom Mayhew here.
He posted on his social media accounts: "Absolutely over the moon to make the Telegraph's list of the top 25 jokes OF ALL TIME! Among such incredible other acts, too!"
But, when you click on the link, tellegraph.biz, you soon notice all is not as it seems.
There are indeed funny gags from him in the self-publicising list, to be fair. Our favourites include "I never liked having my school photo taken, because my parents would always buy photos of other children" and "Marcus Rashford has done a lot of good for kids, as he's helped them get free school meals; but he's done a lot of bad for kids, as they'll grow up as Man United fans".
The website does a pretty good job of plugging his show, but we'll give him another shout out here to add to those efforts:
Tom Mayhew: This Time Next Year, We'll Be Millionaires! is at The Three Sisters at 6:30pm until 27th August. EdFringe.com
