NextUp's Biggest Award In Comedy gets bigger
Streaming platform NextUp are once again set to hand out the Biggest Award In Comedy (in a literal sense)... and this year's trophy is 1cm higher than last year's creation.
The height of this year's blow-up trophy has been confirmed as 2 metres... and 1 centimetre.
The winner, set to be announced on 25th August, will be determined by a public vote, which is open now via nextupcomedy.com
Aside from the trophy, the winner will receive an air pump, a carry case, £500 and the option to have their special recorded for the NextUp platform.
Jordan Gray, the winner of last year's massive award, says: "Last year it was a genuine honour to win this ridiculous award. Believe it or not, I took it on tour with me and developed quite a bond with this magnificent beast. Good luck to all the entrants and whoever wins - prepare yourself for a new inflatable friend."
Daniel Berg, co-founder of NextUp, comments: "The biggest award in comedy is back and quite literally bigger than ever, a whole 1 cm bigger. All the NextUp members who voted last year must have great taste as Jordan Gray won the award whilst performing in a freight container - and her show ended up at the London Palladium - a suitably gigantic rise to fame."
This festival, NextUp will live stream over 50 shows. Fringe Passes, which allow access to all streamed gigs, are available at £35.
