Edinburgh Fringe
Gentlemen's Club
A split bill from two Gaulier-trained legends; Lotte Allan (aka Barry) and Susanna Pukkila (aka Joni), combining clown, character comedy and drag. "Barry" is a lovable elderly gentleman, complete with dentures, a leaky catheter and failing eyesight. Barry's just glad to have some visitors. "Joni" is a Finnish alpha-male hockey bro. He's about to play the game of his life and needs the whole team on their a-game. So pull up your pants, as these work in progress solo shows promise to be an entertaining experience for all and may even sexually confuse the Dads.

The Baltic Nordic Fringe Network Award Winner 2024
This character comedy and drag split bill consists of two work in progress solo shows: 'Barry' is a lovable elderly gentleman out on an adventure, and 'Joni' is a Finnish alpha-male about to play the hockey game of his life. Both combine clowning and physical comedy. So pull up your pants, as this upbeat, heart-warming spectacle in two parts promises to be an entertaining experience for all and may even sexually confuse the Dads.
Gentlemen's Club was created by an international clown duo, comprised of:
Lotte Allan is an actor, and comedy writer. She is a performer and writer for the sketch show The Frow Show, that lampoons hippy life in Forest Row and is being developed for TV. She was a founding member of Dumbshow Theatre which toured nationally and internationally with original theatre shows and wrote and performed in many of the Bristol-based Wardrobe Theatre alternative comedy Christmas shows. Lotte graduated from Ecole Philippe Gaulier in 2022 and has an MA in comedy writing from Falmouth University.
Susanna Pukkila is a Finnish actor and clown who trained with Philippe Gaulier and graduated from Uniarts Helsinki's Theatre Academy (MA in Theatre & Drama). Star of the award winning comedy film NIMBY by Teemu Nikki, her work can also be seen in Nikki's 2023 feature film Death Is A Problem For The Living. Selected for WIFT Finland's mentorship programme, she is currently working as an AD to Aitor Basauri (Spymonkey) in an original work for the Finnish National Theatre.
Joni was devised with the help of Basauri, UK-rising comedy star Ollie West (Leicester Comedy Festival Best Debut nominee 2023), and Barry was developed with Soho Theatre Labs, The Wardrobe Theatre Bristol and Front Room Theatre Weston-Super-Mare. Past audience members have described the show as "top quality" and "batshit crazy". This woman-made show, full of unique and fresh comedy, is for anyone who loves connecting with their masculine side.
