Ugly? Poor? Does your life suck ass? Or do you just think it does?! Learn how to manifest a better life by joining character comic Erin Farrington in her Edinburgh Fringe show.

Was there a particular "a-ha" moment when you realised you were destined to write a show about manifestation?

No, I don't think it was one moment. It is something that truly fascinates me, a big part of me truly believes in the power of positive thinking and tarot and magic manifestations. I like to poke fun at myself and all of the more outlandish practices I have fallen for over the years.

I think the inspiration for the show came from seeing how social media has interpreted all of this new age stuff. I kept getting TikToks of people reading my cards or telling me to choose a stone on the screen, "save this sound and you will get the best news of your life tomorrow at noon", "follow if you have your sun in Gemini for daily star updates". So much of manifestation practices are about looking inwards and doing a lot of self-reflection but what I was seeing on my feed involved almost none of that and I just fell in love with the idea of a very shallow person believing they are teaching and helping while missing the whole point of the practice.

I love an idiot in power, there is so much fun in playing a confident fool and so that's really where I found the bones of the show.

On a scale of 1 to I learned this on TikTok, how qualified are you to lead a seminar?

Who is your biggest inspiration - in comedy or otherwise?

I have always admired Molly Shannon. Her physical comedy is so silly and wild and just wonderful. I feel like growing up watching a woman commit so fully, she was never afraid or be ugly or strange for a character and I think that was very impactful for me.

What's your dream piece of real estate? Will we see you on Selling Sunset anytime soon?

Ohh, I think my dream would be kind of a house. Just kind of simply a home to own. I mean the bar is on the ground honestly really anything will do. I love dressing in sexy business casual so it would be a dream to be on selling sunset.

Have you learned any new manifestation techniques - or even just straight-up life skills - during this Fringe?

Yes! This fringe has been kind of exposure therapy for my crippling FOMO. There is just to much to do and see, people are constantly doing interesting things, you can't be everywhere at once! I am trying to focus on all the wonderful things I am doing and seeing rather than stressing out about all the great stuff I have yet to attend.
