Vix Leyton: Antihero
Welsh stand-up host of podcast smash The Comedy Arcade Vix delves into the human psyche, exploring the notion of people pleasing, a theme for her life she didn't even realise she had until she started stand-up comedy. Can you be the main character in your own life without being the hero? A bit of personal experience, a bit of theory and possibly a bit of science. You should come to this... but no worries if not. 'Joyously full of funny' (Scotsman). 'Affable and ebullient' (Steve Bennett, Chortle.co.uk). 'Charming, surprisingly dark and gonna be famous' (Andrew O'Neill).

Louise Parry, LouReviews, 1st August 2023Vix Leyton: Twitter changed my life - I'll never forgive Elon Musk for what he's done to it
The platform has been a toxic place at times, writes Vix Leyton. But it has also been a global community like none other.
Vix Leyton, The Independent, 16th July 2023More details
Welsh comic Vix Leyton brings her first hour to Edinburgh The Stand 4 at 1.25pm every day but Mondays. The show examines the root cause of her people pleasing, and how to move away from it for the next phase of her life, as she rapidly approaches 40.
Tapping into her skills as a natural storyteller prone to farcical misadventure, the show, a follow up to last year's work-in-progress Pedestrian, mixes close to the bone true stories about family with high-laugh-count whimsical observations exploring whether people pleasers are born or raised.
She is also an award winning personal finance expert, and PR hustler, you might have heard of her but you're not sure why; It could be at your local comedy club but it's equally likely she could be commenting on the best Meal Deal Combo on the BBC, introducing the week's best deals on Channel 4's Steph's Packed Lunch, or telling you how to get all your money back on a rip off holiday down the pub.
Vix Leyton has been making a name for herself in comedy and podcasting since she was discovered on Twitter by Mark Watson in 2019 and challenged to get over a fear of public speaking by learning stand-up as part of his Comedy Marathon 26 hour show. Everyone has a friend who knows someone who changed their life in one tweet, and - if you don't - then Vix is now yours.
Four years and over 600 shows later, she has performed around the world, appeared at and MC'ed some of London's biggest club nights, as well as becoming resident host of Cracking Comedy at Leicester Square Theatre.
She was a Funny Women semi-finalist in 2021 and is a regular MC for pro nights including Red Imp Comedy, Poodle Club and Outside the Box. She is also the creator of the infamous church gig Have I Got Pews For You and resident legal prosecutor for This Is Your Trial.
She also created sell out smash The Comedy Arcade (also at this year's Fringe), which started as a lockdown Twitch game at Vix's kitchen table, became a podcast and then graduated to a live show. It picked up a nomination for Leicester Comedy's best podcast in 2021 and racked up sell out shows at Edinburgh Fringe last year with Underbelly. That is at Stand 3 for a full run this year at 4.40pm. She does acknowledge that the idea of taking on comedy as a hobby alongside her full time PR career has got 'a bit out of hand'.
