Uisge
Lured into metaphorical deep water by a mixture of intrigue and desire, a bewildered Emory Holdridge grapples with life on the remote but stunningly beautiful West Coast of Scotland. A funny and heart-warming tale set in the natural world. Uisge, meaning water in Gaelic, is the origin of the word whisky, derived from the full phrase 'uisge-beatha' meaning 'water of life'. Water in all its many forms: snow, sea, whisky, is a recurring theme in the play. At once a friend and a foe, water is life... and death.
