"Cancelled" comedian Martin Urbano makes Edinburgh Fringe debut

Cancelled for being politically incorrect (and possibly for some hitherto unnamed illegal acts), Martin Urbano is heading to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to perform his debut hour in Apology Comeback Tour. Capitalising on the backlash-to-the-backlash era, Martin offers a hilarious take on wokeness, cancel culture and a world where 'you can't say anything anymore'.

Having previously appeared on US TV staples such as Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show, we spoke to Martin about cancel culture, social media and returning to comedy.

Your show is the Apology Comeback Tour... but is also your debut? How does that work?

I saw some guys doing their apology comeback shows to large crowds and critical acclaim, and I wanted in on that. Plus, I was accused of wrongdoing by multiple women and am now returning to my one true love: stand-up comedy.

What would you say to someone who says your jokes are offensive?

I would whine about it on stage for an hour.

You've worked with both, but who would win in a fight, Jimmy Kimmel or Jimmy Fallon?

For the sake of my career, I have to answer politically: they would both lose. But a really interesting fight would be between their frequent collaborators, Adam Carolla and Horatio Sanz.

Who do you think should be cancelled and why?

I don't think anyone should ever be cancelled because the repercussions of cancel culture are dangerous. Just look at what cancel culture did to Jeffrey Epstein, God rest his soul. That being said, I think members of the Woke Mob should be put to death.

Where can audiences find more about you? Are you on social media or are you banned from all platforms?

You can find me on Elon Musk's Twitter/X, or on Instagram posting crowd-work clips, or on my Finsta in your DMs. I used to be on 4Chan and 8Chan, but they've gotten too woke for my taste, so catch me over on 16Chan.
