A comedy about a comedian. Blurring the lines between comedy and theatre, between funny and serious and between performer and person.

Blending sketches, stand-up, theatre, clown, audiovisuals, and everything else, gosh! is a fast-paced, slick whirlwind of an hour. It began when Kit Loyd and Hamish Clayton worked together as Front-of-House at Soho Theatre, seeing multiple comedians a night and dissecting their experiences together.

"Was Joe Hayward about to become but another white man with a mic? Joking about dates, apps and dating apps? No. He was setting out to be a genre-defying, genre-denying, stand-up-cum-comediancum-poet-cum-comedian. A cum comedian - taking the comedy world by storm."

The piece also touches on the mental wellbeing of comedians and creatives, the vulnerabilities of a performer and person and the frequent rejection that the industry can instil.

Programmed at The Bill Murray, 2Northdown, Canal Cafe Theatre and Drayton Arms, the show has been tipped as a Fringe hidden gem by reviewers and audiences alike.

Creators

gosh! is created by Kit Loyd (co-writer and performer) and Hamish Clayton (co-writer and director).

Kit Loyd was writer/performer of the multi-award-winning comedy short film The Audition (2019) and has experience performing on the West-End.

Directed by Hamish Clayton whose previous credits include Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons ( Pocket Size Theatre), Badgers Can't Be Friends ( London Pub Theatres, Runner-Up for Best Comedy at Standing Ovation Awards 2021) and, at Edinburgh, Auditions ( EdFringe Review) and A Year of Minutes ( EdFringe Review).
