2022 Edinburgh Fringe

Welcome to our 2022 Edinburgh Fringe website

Festival sign at the Edinburgh Fringe

Phew! After a couple of bumpy years due to you-know-what, the Edinburgh Fringe is now set to return as the busy and vibrant festival format we are all used to.

Officially running from 5th to 29th August 2022 this year (but, as always, with shows spilling out either side of those official dates too), the largest arts festival in the world once again looks set to be home to hundreds of exciting live comedy shows. From bold alternative experimental offerings to the best up-and-coming mainstream acts; stand-up, sketch and improvisation to comic theatre: the Fringe has it all. Sides will be split laughing.

At the time of writing we have more than 1,826 different comedy shows listed. A bit of trivia: In 2019, our comedy show listing total was 2,067; so it doesn't look like coronavirus has hit the festival too hard overall.

This will be our eleventh year covering the Fringe and, as always, we are aiming to provide comprehensive coverage. As you may have noticed if you've visited before, we've revamped this website with a new design, in preparation for all that's to come.

As August approaches we'll be pointing you towards shows that look interesting, listings shows we've already seen previews of and thus know are going to be hot tickets, and interviewing the performers that are set to take to the stages. Meanwhile, during the festival itself, we'll be pointing you to the word-of-mouth hits, and bringing you all the latest news, gossip, opinions, trivia and more from the city itself.

We've become well known for handily collecting up all the reviews and press mentions shows get. We are again scouring in excess of 70 publications daily in order to record every interview published and star rating that's issued. You'll be able to find a show's reviews neatly summarised on its individual listings page.

Anyway, that's enough talking from us... time to plan your trip:
