Vote in the Comedy Poster Awards
The annual Comedy Poster Awards are now open for entries. Those involved in 2022 Edinburgh Fringe shows have started uploading their really creative and eye-catching artworks to the dedicated website for the competition, for you to admire.
With hundreds of acts and hundreds of thousands of potential audience members coming to the Fringe, having a strong, funny, informative, or entertaining poster has become a vital marketing tactic for comedians to get bums on seats, and the Comedy Poster Awards aims to celebrate the best of this marketing.
Created in 2014, the inaugural awards were won by the team behind Holly Walsh's poster. The design and photography work in the materials for shows by Tom Parry, Olaf Falafel, Lou Sanders, Desiree Burch, Jessica Fostekew and Sofie Hagen have won since.
There are two categories... The Panel Award, in which the shortlist and winner is decided by expert judges; and The Audience Award, which is decided by comedy fans pressing voting buttons for the posters they like the most.
Please do check out the entries and support the posters you like the best. In many cases, clicking on the poster will open up additional details in which the creators explain their vision and talk about the story of how the artwork was put together.
Voting is open until 23:59 on Friday 12th August 2022, with the winners set to be revealed at a ceremony on Sunday 14th August.
