Two Hearts on returning to Edinburgh as an engaged couple

New Zealand's only popstars - Laura Daniel and Joseph Moore - return to Edinburgh with new "catchy AF" comedy pop music. And guess what? They're about to get married.

Describe your style of musical comedy.

The perfect act for people who love larger-than-life pop music, but wish pop concerts were held in considerably smaller venues, and had jokes peppered throughout the songs.

Just like normal pop music, Two Hearts are obnoxiously loud, catchy, and super deluded.

The Two Hearts versions of ourselves we portray don't really know they are a comedy act. As far as they are concerned, they are saving the world with perfect pop music. Hopefully you find it funny though!

What's it like working together as a married couple?

You will have to ask us in December, for the time being we are but an engaged couple. No complaints so far, the tremendous savings on accommodation costs outweigh any downside.

Will the pressures of the 2022 Fringe be our undoing? Mere months before we tie the knot? Find out by coming along and looking closely for the cracks in the future Mr and Mrs Perfect.

Who inspires your music?

Non-comedy musicians. Man they're impressive. So sincere, how do they do it? Our latest show has touches of Dua Lipa, Drake, Taylor Swift, Prince, Benee, Cardi B and Hillsong Worship music...

What's your Karaoke song?

At the 2019 Fringe we performed a rousing rendition of Where Is The Love by the Black Eyed Peas at the Karaoke Night hosted by Olga Koch. Laura did the Fergie bits, Joseph was naturally all three of the fellas. It's either a sign of how good that night was, or how bad the last three years have been, that we have not once since felt as good as we did during that performance.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

I find the hardest part to be playing piano on stage, that really stresses me out. So I'm going to say someone really good at piano so they can take that burden off me. Maybe Alicia Keys... or Frederic Chopin.
