Myra Dubois says there is no such thing as oversharing
Myra Dubois is a BGT semi-finalist, winner of the Best Female Villain award at the 2020 Great British Panto Awards and counts Graham Norton, Richard E Grant and John Bishop amongst her admirers. Come and be cleansed as she performs her new show A Problem Shared.
Myra will lead meditations, contemplations and pontifications in this new comedy show as she selflessly uses her 'unique' people skills to heal the trauma of her celeb guests and adoring audience members. Having gained thousands of new fans online during lockdown, performing at Sydney Opera House, the Garrick Theatre in London's West End and the Hammersmith Apollo, star of stage and screen Myra returns to Edinburgh, and we couldn't wait to talk to her about A Problem Shared.
At what point does sharing a problem end up being an overshare?
At my show, there's no such thing as an overshare! It's called A Problem Shared, the audience is encouraged - no, IMPLORED - to share any problems they have. It would be a terrible abuse of my healing powers to put a limit on what my AdMyras can bring to the table, don't you think?
What public figures would most benefit from your talents?
This is a tricky question for me to answer because of course there is my private work, and many public figures HAVE benefitted from my talents. From authors of children's books to world leaders (some might say 'dictators'); some of the world's most troubled individuals have sought my counsel. I'm afraid I can't claim a 100% success rate. Some people are beyond help.
Isn't it about time there was a statue erected for you to celebrate your commitment to the people?
How embarrassing that you've even mentioned it! Of course, I wouldn't be so egotistical as to suggest it myself but then again if the public are demanding statues of me are erected around the globe; who am I to argue? I hear quite a few plinths have recently become vacant. And often in towns with a port. A strange detail, that.
Has there ever been a problem that you haven't been able to solve?
No there has not and I resent this attempt to sabotage my reputation as an energy worker! A problem that I haven't been able to solve indeed. You can only imagine the state the world would be in if it weren't for the constant pinging of my celebrity-client WhatsApp group chat.
What's one piece of advice that everyone should follow?
