In an unassuming French restaurant, an American news anchor meets with a man who reveals to her that the 1969 moon landing was faked and this time there's proof. Flashback to 1968 where a panicked NASA is desperately trying to catch the Soviet Union in the Space Race. All seems lost until the NASA administrator, under pressure from the president, gets an idea: they'll film a fake moon landing and broadcast it to the world! Enlisting the help of a former Hollywood filmmaker, can NASA pull off the greatest deception the world has ever seen?
