Sofia and Florville are madly in love - but a long-standing agreement promises Sofia to another, the son of the great Signor Bruschino. However, unbeknownst to all but the couple, Sofia's fiancé is arrested en route to meet his future wife, and Florville poses in his place... to Signor Bruschino himself. Is it getting hot in here...? Rossini's classic music accompanies a comedic tale of love, lies and mistaken identity performed by some of Cambridge University's finest singers and nine-piece orchestra. ***** (Tab, 2018).
