Ruby Wax's Fringe show cancelled due to severe accident
Ruby Wax's run at the Edinburgh Fringe has been cancelled, as the star has suffered "severe injuries" following an accident.
Wax was due to perform her show How To Be Human at the Pleasance Grand from 18th-24th August, but these dates have now been cancelled.
Her promoters have released a statement, saying: "Following a serious accident on holiday, Ruby has suffered severe injuries to her back and is unable to perform in Edinburgh. Under doctor's orders, she is taking time out to recover, but will get the show on the road again as soon as she can. Ruby is incredibly sorry that she will not be able to perform the run which she had been so looking forward to."
Ruby Wax herself says: "I've been coming to Edinburgh Fringe with my shows for over 30 years and always had the most amazing time. I am hugely disappointed and so sorry to everyone who has bought tickets. My injuries are quite serious and I do need to take the time to heal and recover."
Refunds will be available from point of ticket purchase, and ticket holders will be contacted shortly.
