2019 Edinburgh Fringe

Line-up revealed for Amusical 2019 Fringe show

AMusical 2018

Amusical - the comedy show that celebrates musical theatre - has announced the first guests for its 2019 special at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Hosted by Jayde Adams and Kiri Pritchard-McLean, the show returns for the third year in a row to the Edinburgh Fringe, this time on 21st August at 11:30pm at the Pleasance Grand.

The guests confirmed to be singing musical numbers in the special show include Lost Voice Guy, Rose Matafeo, Phil Wang and sketch duo Max & Ivan.

The producers say: "Amusical is the perfect Edinburgh fairytale; to graft and build a following, sail that ship to Edinburgh, sell out the Grand, and miraculously get a TV pilot. It's that rare and precious triumph done through sheer hard work and favours from friends! With sequins and jazz hands in tow, a handful of comedians, along with music from in-house band Dave Cribb & The Quavers, will once again go up against each other to perform their favourite musical theatre song from stage or screen. It's then up to the audience to crown their winner, with all proceeds going to Waverley Care, Scotland's leading HIV and Hepatitis C charity."

The team will also host two smaller shows during this year's festival. They explain: "If another extravaganza of showstopping tunes, brilliant ballads and musical theatre classics wasn't enough, the Amusical team will host two brand new club nights for the first time at the Edinburgh Fringe, on the 23rd & 24th August at 12.30am at the Pleasance Ace Dome. Hosted by Jayde and Kiri, this will be Amusical-aficionado's opportunity to dance and sing along to musical theatre tunes as belted out live by Dave & The Quavers and watch some of their favourite comedians DJ the night away."

Tickets for the shows are on sale now via pleasance.co.uk

The TV pilot, which was filmed last year, will be broadcast on Comedy Central on 26th August.
