Joz Norris: The Incredible Joz Norris Locks Himself Inside His Own Show, Then Escapes, Against All the Odds!!
This idiot's back. Last year I saw Jason Donovan alone onstage singing to a backing track and suddenly it dawned on me why I do all this. You perform to hide in plain sight and build your own cage. BBC Radio 4. Channel 4. ITV2. Dave. Weirdos. ACMS. Judge Rinder. 'An absolute idiot... Simple, silly and screamingly funny' (Fest). 'A born entertainer and great comedy writer' (Chortle.co.uk). 'Fastidiously avoids boring or obvious choices and excels at being unselfconsciously daft' (TVBomb.co.uk).

British Comedy Guide, 1st September 2017Laugh Out London's Edinburgh Fringe comedy awards 2017
It's that time again. The fringe is almost over. The pubs of Edinburgh can go back to being pubs, Lee Nelson's face can stop blocking the view of Edinburgh Castle and the Edinburgh recycling plant will be busy turning flyers into mulch. So without further a do lets give out the least prestigious awards of the year, the Laugh Out London Comedy awards (or the LOLies)...
Laugh Out London, 25th August 2017Joz Norris picks his perfect playlist
Hi Chortle, I realised today I forgot to include an introductory paragraph to my Perfect Playlist, saying something like "Hello and welcome to my Perfect Playlist!" If it's not too late, is it OK to interpose this paragraph (including these words I'm typing now) into the article just before the first video to function as a nice introduction? Thanks so much, Joz.

British Comedy Guide, 3rd August 20178 reasons to be worried about Joz Norris' Fringe show
Just as 2016's Batman v Superman, intended as the launching point of an ambitious cinematic universe, failed to impress fans and critics, there's every reason to be cautious approaching 2017's Fringe and reserving judgement on the much-mooted Joz Norris Expanded Universe before really investing. Here are 8 reasons why Norris's 2017 outing could crash and burn.

Cult comic performs entire Fringe show about social anxiety while trapped in a giant web. Because why not?
After a show about grandads and death that became an under-the-radar hit ("an under-appreciated, beautifully crafted gem" - Laugh Out London) and a year spent making short films that have since been nominated for awards worldwide, cult idiot Joz Norris returns to the live scene with his most physically ambitious and imaginative show yet - a kaleidoscopic, nonsensical exploration of anxiety, isolation and distance all performed while literally trapped inside an enormous web.
Comedy, at its best, is the expression of a feeling through nonsense, Norris reckons. So this year he's indulging in Gothic puppetry, playful theatre, anecdotal stand-up, physical nonsense, thoughtful storytelling and musical self-analysis in the ultimate goal of scooping the insides of his head out like a pumpkin and hoping there's somebody in the room who understands.
Biography
Joz Norris is a member of award-nominated collectives Weirdos (Chortle Awards 2012 & 2016, DLCF Liberty Award 2016), Comedians' Cinema Club (Chortle Awards 2016) and Heroes of Fringe (WINNERS of Edinburgh Comedy Award Panel Prize 2016) and a Board Member of the Alternative Comedy Memorial Society.
He has written, produced and starred in three short films and two series of a webseries with Little Rock Pictures, shortlisted for Outstanding Writing and Outstanding Lead Actor at the LA Webseries Festival, the world's biggest festival for online serialised filmmaking.
His sitcom pilot Deathbed was performed to acclaim at the Soho Theatre and his sitcom Please Be Normal has been optioned by What Larks! Productions.
His solo Fringe shows have become cult favourites and he has been seen and heard in interviews and sketches on BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 4 Extra, ITV, ITV2, Channel 4, Dave and Viceland.
He is also currently working on a comedy documentary project with cult anti-comedy icon Ed Aczel, and is securing funding for his fourth short.
