BWW Q&A- James Everett
James Everett interview.
Natalie O'Donoghue, Broadway World, 28th June 2017More details
Now in his 70th year of existence Jim Everett and his alter-ego Jimmy Francis prove that you're never too old by making their stand-up debut at this year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe, now also in its 70th year.
After a long career in the military, including the Falklands, Gulf War 1, several tours in Northern Ireland and over a decade with an ex-service charity, this lifelong fan of comedy, upon retiring in August 2013 and despite his Senior Citizen status, had the urge to get into the world of stand-up, and there began his comedy journey.
Jim (also known as Jimmy) with his alter-ego Jimmy Francis, will fully entertain audiences with two equally funny, yet entirely different, accounts of their Britain's Got Talent auditions in 2016 & 2017 and much, much more.
Since retiring, Jim's comedy experience has included competing in the 'So You Think You're Funny' show competition in May 2015 at the Up-The-Creek Comedy Club, Greenwich London. He also attended a 'Laughing Horse Comedy' course in Salford, Manchester in November 2015. This preceded his first shot at BGT which took place at The Empire Theatre Liverpool in January 2016, with his second attempt at an open audition in the SWALEC Cardiff in October 2016. He also entered an online Lotto Talent completion in the 'Sir David Attenborough Impersonation' category. Jim only heard about this competition four days before the deadline. The other categories were 'Street Dance' and a 'Dog Act' (The dog act won, of course)!
Jim's debut show at this year's festival comes via Laughing Horse Comedy and promises to be a worthy, deserving to attend very humorous hour of fun, as he proves to all in attendance, 'You're Never Too Old, Are You?'
