A cracking hour on his 1970s upbringing in a homogeneous North East town versus today's political correctness, moving into a dystopian future where nobody takes a pinch of salt. Lots of big laughs and the best joke about Hitler you'll ever hear.

My struggle with right on politics. Gavin Webster is 47 and is white and male and still has trouble getting to grips with ongoing political correctness. I know, he should be executed! He started work on a building site in the mid 1980s after attending the comprehensive school with the lowest attainment in the borough of Gateshead. Apparently he doesn't realise how lucky and privileged he was. Expect pertinent and vacuous points from both sides by a man arguing with his inner self. 'His rants are wonderfully surreal' (Herald).

Comics stand-up for the politically incorrect at Fringe

Comedy is currently more prescriptive than at any time I can remember. Prescriptive of words, of subjects, even of opinions. And that is worrying. The current industry-standard stand-up has to abide by a list of prohibitions that make a gluten-free, vegan shopping expedition seem simple. There are 328 recognised gender identities, Leo Kearse tells his packed audience, and reads a few from his phone. Canada has just passed a law making the non-use of the correct gender pronoun in any given situation an offence, he says. He thinks this is a bit much.
