It's just like the famous 'bad guy' scene in Scarface, when Tony Montana rants that iconic phrase, 'You need people like me...' to a crowded judgmental restaurant. Just add a Scottish accent, a large dollop of 36 years worth of shame, sprinkle generously with some vulnerability, add a pinch of gay, an epiphany and you have it. Bon appetit! The world is Dean Hendry's crowded judgmental restaurant. He's the misunderstood bad guy and he's finally OK with it, because actually, you need people like him. Trust us.

After six years of living in London, where no one understood anything he said, Dean Hendry has returned home to his native Edinburgh and he's putting on a show, literally.
Dean has amassed great life experiences in his 36 years on Earth - growing up in working class Edinburgh and born into a boxing family of amateur boxers, it was tricky to hide all his fabulous personality gifts, but he got through it. Dean has since worked in the building trade, education, PR, journalism, hairdressing, hospitality, theatre, retail, a cancer hospice, casino marketing and for a long 20 minutes, a hotdog stand at Wembley Stadium. He's been utterly underappreciated and professionally unrecognised in most of them. Ok, all of them.
Self-reflective, observational, personal and honest, Dean's debut comedy show ou Need People Like Me is a PBH Free Fringe show and arrives at Black Market for this year's Edinburgh Fringe from August 5th - 15th.
