Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?

I started my comedy career in Dublin 2005. So far my career is not what i expected. Not one arena gig or my own sitcom. I could not be unhappier at where i am at the moment.

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself (but mix them up, keep us guessing!).

1. I was born in Nigeria in 1982 but grew up Dublin.

2. I have certificate in sales and marketing which is very dear to me.

3. I ran The Dublin marathon in 2006.

Describe your new show in exactly 23 words.

My show involves funny stories about how i tried to gain internal happiness by taking up the ancient Irish art form of hot yoga.

Any cunning plans to get more punters in?

The best way to get people in is to put on a good show. Any acts who have cunning plans are usually terrible at comedy, hence the cunning plans.

What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?

I don't drink so that's not a problem. I will make my own food because the main ingredient of Scottish food is sadness and i want to live after August. If i stick to this, i will be OK.

What will you miss most while you're away from home?

Not being in a country that has a summer.

Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?

I always love to climb Arthur's seat, it's a great way to feel alive.

If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?

I'd have pictures of Rory O'Hanlon on every page. I think that way there's something in there for everyone. No, I'm joking. I would have a list of my comedy friends so i could then charge them for the advertising.

Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.

The Grim Reaper. If i don't meet him, i know i have stayed alive for another year.

Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?

Its packed with hilarious jokes and has no tear joking stories about a dead relative.

'Rory O'Hanlon - You Are Where You Need to Be' is at Opium at 5pm until the 27st August. Listing
